Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) happens all across America due to the generous support of its National Employer Sponsors. Each and every employer sponsoring AAPD's Disability Mentoring program is making a commitment to the education, support, hiring, and retention of job-seekers with disabilities. All national DMD sponsors also make the commitment to participate in this program at some level in their choice of geographic region through our network of grassroots DMD Coordinators provides to its National Employer Sponsors the opportunities to simultaneously:
-
Connect an untapped workforce of students job-seekers with disabilities to their place of employment in a meaningful and ongoing way;
-
Realize their corporate diversity goals in the non-hiring environment of Mentoring by connecting existing employees and hiring managers to a new workforce; and,
-
Encourage individuals with disabilities to pursue their career dreams and the opportunity to develop long-lasting mentoring relationships.
